Dear colleagues,
The UCSB Faculty Association continues to monitor the ongoing strike and latest developments to present the most up-to-date information to our membership and all faculty at UCSB. You may have heard that on Friday night Dec 16th, the UAW bargaining teams reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the UC. The new tentative agreement will be open for membership vote from Monday, December 19 (the day that grades are due), to Friday, December 23. UAW ASEs have asked us to convey a clarification that until the tentative agreement is ratified, UAW workers remain on strike. They ask that all faculty who are honoring the picket line or refusing to pick up struck work, continue with their commitments to acts of solidarity such as grade withholding.
